Coatlicue, goddess of the earth and of death, is represented as a decapitated woman. From her neck spring two serpent heads, she wears a necklace of hands and hearts, and her own hands are shown as serpent heads and her feet as eagle claws. The stone sculpture dates from 1250-1321A.D. Museo Nacional de Antropología Mexico City
