The Inca capital, Cuzco, Peru. The Spanish cathedral completed in 1654 stands on the Plaza de Armas, the original Inca square Huacaypata [Aucaypata]. The cathedral stands on the site of the Kiswar Kancha a shrine dedicated to the 'Creator', the Inca's greatest god. Overlooking the city and plaza, in the distance, is the stone fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
