The famous murals at Bonampak, Mexico depict life in a Maya royal court in the 8th century. Scenes include lords, ladies, and musicians playing drums and pipes celebrating a battle won by Lord Chan Muan in AD790. They also show soldiers fighting, and prisoners being tortured. Details of dress include feathered helmets and jaguar-skin costumes.
