Palenque, Mexico from Classic Maya period (AD250-AD900). An engraving of a carving in the Temple of the Foliated Cross by M Désiré Charnay 1880s. It depicts Lord Pacal and Chan-Bahlum on either side of a giant cob of maize bearing human heads.
