Palenque Mexico. The tomb of King Pacal (AD615-683) was discovered in the Temple of the Inscriptions in 1952. Inside the tomb the king's body was adorned with necklaces of jade and mother-of-pearl, and over his face was a mask of jade, obsidian and shells.   Museo Nacional de Antropología Mexico City
