The Salvage of the SS Great Britain
Falkland Islands 1969 - 1970

To prepare for the lowering of the spar, Royal Marine sargeant Tony Stott climbed the main mast and rigged a harness to help the salvage crew. The huge iron spar was 105 feet long, weighed almost four tons and had been in the same position for over 110 years.
