ARGENTINA:   Misiones is one of the smallest and least known of the Argentinian provinces. When the Spaniards arrived in the 16th C the land was home to groups of native Americans who spoke a language known as Tupi Guarani. Today just a few Guarani speaking families survive in their own villages [aldeas] in the remaining forest.
