Bolivia.   The open expanse of the Salar of Uyuni - dried salt lake of Uyuni - at 3,600m is dotted with small islands of volcanic rock from ranges protruding above the surface. These have been given local names and here on the Isla de los Pescadores, the slopes are covered with tall cardón cactus plants.
