Brazil: A typical dish from Salvador de Bahia, with prawns and a hot spicy sauce. Much of the cooking in this part of Brazil is influenced by African tastes and origins, and flavoured ingredients include dendê oil (from a nut on the dendê palm), coconut milk, shrimps, peanuts, cashew nuts, black beans and rice. Dendê palms -the Dendezeiro / African palm / Elaeis guineesis were introduced to Brazil with slaves from Africa
