Brazil: Easter in the old colonial town of Ouro Preto is celebrated with open-air plays and processions in the cobbled streets for up to a month before Holy Week. Many streets are decorated in a colourful mix of flowers and sawdust. On Good Friday there is a re-enactment of the removal of Christ's body from the cross, and the week concludes on Easter Sunday with a procession of angels and biblical figures. Here Judas is being led on a donkey, surrounded by townspeople.
