Chile: Easter Island / Isla de Pascua / Rapa Nui is approximately 3600kms from the Chile coast and 2075km from the closest inhabited island. It was 'discovered' on Easter Sunday 1722 by a Dutch seafarer. This engraving is from an 18th C. account and depicts one of the largest moai with its pukao or crown-like carved stone head.
