Chile: The Atacama may one of be the world's driest places and in parts no rain has ever been recorded. But just occasionally incredible drenching storms occur for no apparent reason in isolated spots leaving mud pools which dry leaving cracked earth. Seeds which have been dormant for an eternity spring to life, flower and then die.
