Brazil. The Kayapó (also known as the Xikrin and Txhukahamai) of the Xingu, Para state. Since the 1970s Chief Roani and other chiefs have led many protests against the building of dams and other incursions into Kayapó land. He wears a lip disc, traditional among the Kayapó, but now seldom worn by the younger generation. His headdress is made from blue macaw feathers.
